1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #133 - Native Red Indian show, Niagara
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #133
(The Call of the Wild, a native Red Indian stage show, depicted the importance of the Niagara Falls to the native Indians from the very early days before the arrival of immigrants. The show was rather brief but the costumes were elaborately and beautifully displayed. See how strikingly attractive these native Indians are..100% authentic beauty)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #132 - Hershey's Chocolate World, PA
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #132
(If chocolate is your thing, then you have stepped into choc-heaven. The entire town is named as Hersey, so it's no wonder that Hershey's chocolate is so big in the US. The factory was closed for repairs, so we couldn't see how it's made. However, it was a convenient stop on our 500mile bus journey to Niagara Falls, including a 2nd stopover at Corning Glassware, the highlight of which was an elderly employee demonstrating glass-making to the tour group in perfect Mandarin! How the tourist scene has changed..the China market is huge)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #131 - Lincoln Memorial
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #131
(As memorials go, this Lincoln Memorial is probably the most widely known and pictured, because of all the Hollywood movies that have captured it in some way. But this city of Washington is full of memorials including the Jefferson Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial and the Korean War Memorial. Then there's the Washington Monument - the area between it and the Lincoln Memorial hosted the million-man-march led by Martin Luther King in the 60's, who gave us the iconic words, "I have a dream.." What a powerful and inspirational set of words indeed)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #130 - The White House, Washington DC
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #130
(It was the closest we could get to the White House, or more precisely, the closest the public were allowed to get to..this was the south lawn, apparently. Still, it's truly a white jewel. So, in there is where the most powerful man in the world sits? Isn't that a lonely way to live, I wonder..)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #129 - Madam Tussaud's, Washington DC
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #129
(How does it feel to be surrounded by the most beautiful and smartest women in the world, all within the same room? Well, in one word, empowering. So who takes the prize for being the most real? Angelina, hands down. Some faces are almost just perfect, wax or otherwise.)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #128 - Capitol Hill, Washington
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #128
(In Washington for the first time, and with temperatures nearing 0C, the Capitol Building looks deserted. Perhaps there was a winter break but there appear to be no one working in this meeting place for the US Congress and Senate. Hmm..is this where the mightiest government in the world are really working?)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #127 - Independence Hall, Philadelphia
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #127
- Independence Hall & Liberty Bell, Philadelphia
(The beginning of the United States - it all started here at the Independence Hall in Philadelphia, with the sounding of the Liberty Bell. You can see the building on the back of all US$1 notes. For me, the joy of "independence" arrived in the form of a snow storm, with beautiful snowflakes layering the grass in front of the Hall into a totally white field in less than 20minutes. This was exactly what I had hoped for in this trip to the US..falling fresh snow on my face [see video] ..simply lovely!)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #126 - Empire State Building, New York
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #126
(Taking the ride up to the 68th floor of the Empire State Building started with a 3D show, Hollywood style, with shaking seats to up the nausea factor. But once up there, the view of New York City - Manhattan Island - is spectacular. Out afar, the new Freedom Tower at the site of the former Twin Towers, almost completed. A real concrete jungle, or a testament to Man's ingenuity? The setting sun gave this city a bronze aura)

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #125 - Times Square, New York
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #125
(One can almost 'hear' the lights at Time Square..they are that loud, even in broad daylight. This square lives up to its name of being the glitzier in the world, especially on Super Bowl Sunday, when supporters of all kind show up at the junction, as this Bronco's lady did, in fine cowboy gear, in no more than frigid 2C temperature there)
