(The domestic airport in Yangon at 5am is a sight to behold when empty..it is truly an airport that one would see in the 60's, with baggage being towed by hand, and propeller planes. On arrival at Bagan airport without any hotel advanced booking, we took a chance by asking the taxi driver to recommend a place to stay, and goodness, what a Blazing Hotel it turned out to be! We just loved the stone-walls and the totally retro look-and-feel..we were more than happy to pay the U$72 for the night)
