1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #448 - Mykonos windmills, Greece
1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #448
(The stars of Mykonos are easily these 5 windmills on the hill in the main town, called Chora here. They are visible almost anywhere high on this island. They are actually built by Venetians in the 16th century, making them a good 400 years old, and were used to mill wheat then. Today, one is set up as a small museum, and for the rest of its time, act as perfect props for instagram photos. They are like 5 giants guarding the entrance to the old port of Chora)
