(Tsavo West National Park didn't quite live up to its wild-west name, but all the action came after we checked into the the Ngulia Safari Lodge, nestled inside the park itself. Here, at 8pm and in the midst of our dinner, the leopard came out in the night to devour a big leg of lamb, hung 10 feet up in the air. It was a proper spectacle, which clearly, was the main draw of this hotel. Was this the only way for most guests here at the park to see this elusive Big 5 cat? For us, it turned out to be so - and we can count ourselves lucky. We wondered if this would be allowed in other countries - wouldn't this way of luring the leopard change their natural behaviour?)
