- Ngong Ping Village, Hong Kong
(The hop over to Lantau island using this cable car from the end of the MTR ride to Ngong Ping 360 was picturesque and gave a bird's eye view of the area including the airport. The village, which includes a monastery, has a rather man-made feel but the giant Buddha statue was impressive, requiring a climb of 100 steps or so, which we declined due to the heat of the morning)
