- Tai-O Village, Hong Kong
(Now this fishing village is much more authentic, called Tai-O. Brochures billed it as Hong Kong's Venice. Well...not quite. But it is certainly charming, away from the concrete jungle of the city and with stalls selling many local fish-based foods. We had a quiet lunch at this quirky restaurant called Solo, sitting right beside the river that flows into the open sea. It's views were worth the price of the lunch itself, prompting an artist to put colours on canvas, like this lady here)
