1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour #351 - Steam Clock, Gastown, Vancouver

1001 Places/Experiences to See or Savour After Remission #351

- Steam Clock, Gastown, Vancouver

(Taking our first Skytrain ride into the city, Vancouver lived up to its reputation of wet, wet, wet, with spotty rain throughout the morning. First stop on our walkabout was the steam clock at Gastown. At 11.30am, we managed to get a whiff of the steam that runs the clock. The Waterfront station became our prime target because we realised that rolling our suitcases the following day to the cruise centre was going to be a fairly straightforward affair, as opposed to catching a taxi, like we did from the airport. With 16C temperature, Vancouver is a lovely city to be hanging around. But what really became obvious to us was how "Asian" this city is. We can see over 50% of Asian faces at train stations at the later part of the mornings here - almost feeling like we are in an MTR station in Hong Kong)
