- Ice Hotel Jukkasjarvi, Kiruna
(The title for the craziest hotel in the world should be this - Ice Hotel, Jukkasjavi - just 15km from Kiruna. They emphasized that this is the "original" - not the other ice hotel in Stockholm. The ice carvings are out of this world - King Kong, jelly-fish, library, snail garden. And all of these creativity melts away come end-April right into the Torne River. It will then be rebuilt and carved again in October or November. Guests get prepped in another building but at 8pm, they are allowed in to these ice-rooms to stay overnight. They then have breakfast and meals in the main building again. Would you stay in one of these ice rooms? I like the cold, but this may not be for me )
